What to expect when I visit

Everyone is welcome.

When you visit any church for the first time, you certainly will have some questions.  We want to give you the information that will make visiting easy.  We want you to come and enjoy uplifting music, encouraging messages, and great fellowship.  No one is a stranger at Central Baptist Church!

How do I get there?

We are located in the center of Lawton, Oklahoma at 901 SW B Avenue. Our Campus takes up a whole city block between 9th and 10th Street.  We are across the street from the historic new Lawton City Hall.  We have parking on all four sides of our building, however, there are reserved spaces for visitors on the north side.  They are marked with green signs and lines.

What do I wear?

This is a big question for many.   Bottom line: Central Baptist Church is more concerned with meeting the spiritual needs of you and your family than what you wear to church!  Everyone needs to wear what makes them comfortable.  There are some who will wear  their "Sunday Best".  That is fine because that makes them comfortable.  Some will wear jeans and casual shirt.  That is fine because that makes them comfortable.  Dressed up or casual does not matter, we just want to see you.

Where do I go?

Enter the building on the north or south side of the building.  Both lead into a common lobby. Our Welcome Center is located there and is open at 9:00 am on Sunday morning.  We will always have friendly and helpful staff there to greet you.  They will assist you in finding a Sunday school class that meets your needs or direct you to the Worship Center for the main service.

What do you have for my children?

We have programs for all ages, from newborns to teenagers.  The leadership of our children's departments have years and in some cases decades of experience.  The "young childhood suite" is located in the main lobby by the welcome center.  It contains the nursery complete with diaper changing supplies, breast feeding area, and helpful staff.  Toddlers through 3 years of age have areas here also, complete with toys and crafts appropriate for their age.

Children in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade have separate Sunday school classes for their age group.  These children also get to attend Wiggle Worship or Worship KidStyle.  This church service for kids is supercharged with excitement.  Singing and moving with the music and video make this the place to be on Sunday mornings.  Much more fun than that "grown up stuff".

We don't leave out those from grade 7 -12.  Our ever growing youth ministry is designed to provide both learning and fun fellowship.

Do I need to give money during the offering?

No donation is expected from our visiting guests.  The offering is a time during the service designated for members to support the church.  There are visitor cards located in the back of the pews in the Worship Center.  Please complete one and put it in the offering plate instead of a donation.  We would really like to record your visit and follow up with any requested information.
